Rotation Help On The Way

The Atlanta Braves got some good news this week about the pending return of two pitchers. You can read the updates here, but I will give a summary of what the article says.

Rafael Soriano could be back as early as Monday for the final game of a series with the National League-best Arizona Diamondbacks. Hopefully, he comes in right away for a save opportunity, as the Braves face Brandon Webb, who will be looking for his 10th win of the season, an amazing feat.

John Smoltz had a good outing for the AA affiliate. We can expect him back in a week or so. It is still unclear how Smoltz will be used when he does return, but we can safely assume he will begin where he left off.

  1. Oh didn’t you hear?! Hampton is doing well pitching off of flat turf! No discomfort! Maybe we can hope for him too?

*att: please please please take note of high sarcasm*

  2. Ashley, i purposely just effing avoided even writing anything about him. I am just sooooo tired of that guy. Sarcasm well taken.

  3. Did anyone else catch the ESPN feature of who was the biggest mistake investment, Hampton or Barry Zito? Almost ashamed for the Braves, but who could have seen it coming. I just wish he would go ahead and retire, doing at least one decent thing for the organization by letting them out of the rest of the contract.

On other side notes though, I’m guessing that Resop might be creating the hole for one of the returning pitchers to fill. Anyone in agreement or dispute?

  4. Zito is at least playing. Resop backwards spells POSER.

    Just keep that in mind
